The Tables and the Walls
ArtworkThis is my MFA exhibition: When the Tables and the Walls Begin to Talk
The work of this thesis exhibit is an exploration of fantasy, using a narrative that explores what is real and what is unnatural. This body of work uses a print based graphic dialogue to investigate the story of product design, fabrication, and reproduction, as well as ceramic platters and vessels, which expose the discourse between simulated and actual materiality. The desired outcome is two fold: one, to prompt questions regarding what is real and what is fabricated as it relates to design. And two, similarly, questioning ownership regarding art and making. In my exhibition, the design seems to be emerging and growing from the pattern. This personal intention is a declaration from the artist, to make my designs come to life.
